It would be well worth checking the link section in my site and contact the people listed who have written books about them. There is also a link to a great web site on their history.

When they arrived in Canada only to find that their scheduled games would not be allowed, they traveled to The USA to play a number of men's club teams.
                                                               Their record: 3 - 3 - 3. !!

Meg Foster adventure story. For the history of the women's game in books, I'll add some suggestions for books in another portion of the site.

The mother-of-pearl buttons on the front and cuffs look great. No tags.
Men or Women used uniforms similar to this before and after 1920.
The Wolverhampton Wanderers had a kit that was similar in 1888-89.

Another Great Jersey! I've seen photos of this style being used in the 1920's and 30's. The 3 buttons on the front and the 2 on the cuffs are all matching. This has the: Bukta Sportwear tag: Made in England. Bukta started their business in 1879. They got pretty tight with The FA in the 30's and Arsenal supposedly made a radical uniform change; contrasting sleeves(white) and their main color. If this was an inovation for Bukta specifically, I would guess this to be 1930's then.

Laying flat, these measure 21 inches across!!

Very loosely translated: "The New School of Graces" ... "Before they were the queen of dances, today, they are the queen of the ball."  A bit of a play on words and noticeably less critical of the women's game. But this was in France; the English women were still snubbed.
