This is a poster for The Czechoslavakia versus Denmark 1st Unofficial Women's World Championship game on Wednesday, July 8, 1970 at The Bologna - Stadio Comunale. If you research, you'll find some sources say the game was scheduled for July 7th.. There were 8 Teams scheduled in 2 brackets for this tournament financially backed by Martini & Rossi (trophy) and The FIEFF Organization. Czechoslavakia pulled out of the event. This important event was won by: Denmark. Italy was 2nd; Mexico was 3rd. The other teams were: Austria, Switzerland, England and Germany. Size of Poster: 69.85 CM by 99 CM. 27.5 inches by 39 inches.

FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 Official Poster. Held in Germany. This measures: 33 inches tall by 23 inches wide. It seems that the producer of these posters decided to fold all of them before sending them out. I had a few good friends in Germany looking for rolled posters; none could be found.
Ostbahn Olympia XI Austria Women's Football Team Pennant: 1974. I believe this team won the league championship in 1972/73. In 1982, The Austrian Football Federation took the women's teams over. 18 inches long by about 11 inches wide. Two sided; silky.
U.S. Aurora Mombretto Calcio Femminile 1972 Pennant. Silky, fairly thick, two sided: Italian colors on the back side. Metal support rod thru the top. Founded in 1972, they played in Serie A and B back then. Merged to become: ASD Mozzanica in 2004. About 13 inches long by 11 inches wide.
Austrian Women's Football Club: Ostbahn XI Wien. Semi Final Pennant: OFB Frauenliga. 1977. This team did win the championship in: 73/74, 80/81, 81/82 and in 1983-84. 18 inches long by about 11 inches wide. Thick, silky, two sided.

An A. C. Femminile Valmacca Pennant. Italy. This is a fairly thick, silky two sided women's football team exchange pennant; probably from around 1987 to 1990 or so. It had a metal bar that runs thru the top; tasseled and has: Rossi & Bertone on the opposite side. If Rossi and Bertone was the men's side, then this would be a dual use pennant. Measures 14 inches long by 12 inches wide.
U. S. National Soccer Hall of Fame 1998 Induction Poster. 12 by 18 inches. Advertising Poster. April Heinrichs was the 1st women's player to be inducted that weekend. Side Story: The defending Olympic Champion USA Team played The New Zealand National Team at Hartwick College. Michelle Akers drilled home a 35 yard strike at the 4:56 mark of the 1st period. At the 33:35 mark still in the opening half, a serious but calm voice came over the PA system telling everyone to: "... go to the brick buildings across the compound ... do not go to your cars ... a tornado is heading this way ..." All the fans and players packed the floors and the basement area to wait out the storm (lots of stories)...and yes, the storm did uproot some fairly large trees in the area; no one was hurt.
A benefit some players found in winning The 1st Women's World Championships in 1991; now called The FIFA Women's World Cup, was that some businesses paid selected players to promote their goods. Here, Lanzera signed: Megan McCarthy, Shannon Higgins and April Heinrichs. This poster is 18 wide by 24 inches tall. It's framed in glass; I'll work hard on getting a clearer picture later.

1971: 2nd Women's World Championships Pennant. A shorter variation of the previous pennant. The attendance was quite high in some of these games. Around 100,000 were said to be at 2 of Mexico's games. The story is that these games were advertized in a sexist way and mostly men were filling the seats.
